Reader’s Advisory is “the act of putting people together with the books they love.” (Diana Tixier Herald, Genreflecting).

At the Athenaeum, our librarians’ favorite job is to get you books that you enjoy reading. Getting a librarian’s help is possible in many ways.

When the doors are open, talk to a librarian in the library
Call a librarian during open hours: 413-568-7833 ext 2
- Ask for book recommendations.
- Learn how to use Libby & Overdrive to access a variety of eBooks and eAudiobooks!
Send a librarian a request

- Fill out a “Your Next Reading Adventure” form

We are also happy to teach you to use the many tools you have at your disposal to discover books you would like to read.
