DONNA BURKOTT

TERM EXPIRES: 2027

After being an active member of the Friends of the Westfield Athenaeum,  Donna joined the board where she continues to promote the Athenaeum’s many assets.

SUSAN DRUMMEY, PRESIDENT

TERM EXPIRES: 2026

Susan is a lifelong Westfield resident and Athenaeum patron since age 7. She serves the community on several non-profit boards, and is involved in local politics and as a parish council member of her church. Currently president of the Board of Directors, Susan has been a member since 2016.

MARIE FLAHIVE

TERM EXPIRES: 2026

A lifelong library patron and supporter, Marie serves on the Art Committee, which is involved with the Jasper Rand Gallery’s shows and displays, as well as other Athenaeum art projects. She has participated on the Board since 2014.

TRACIE KESTER, VICE PRESIDENT

TERM EXPIRES: 2028

Tracie is on the Personnel Committee and serves as vice president of the board. While growing up she wanted to be a librarian, but went to law school instead.

SUSAN KINGRA

TERM EXPIRES: 2028

Beginning as a Page in 1985, Susan has worked in most Athenaeum Departments, retiring in 2010 from Technical Services. As a member of the Board since 2011, she has served on committees including Nominating, Museum, Building, Fundraising, and Personnel.

*KATHLEEN KNAPIK

TERM EXPIRES: 2025

A long-time advocate of the Athenaeum, Kathy joined the Athenaeum Board in 2020.   As a teacher in Westfield, she looks forward to helping expand partnerships between the Athenaeum and the public schools.

MARK MORIN, TREASURER

TERM EXPIRES: 2026

Mark is chairman of the Finance Committee. He is the Athenaeum’s treasurer, and as such is in charge of all securities, money, accounts, and records which are its property.

*JAYNE MULLIGAN, SECRETARY

TERM EXPIRES: 2029

Jayne currently serves as Board Secretary. She is a member of both the Building and Fundraising Committees and has been instrumental in the $1.3 million dollar renovation.

*CANDY PENNINGTON

TERM EXPIRES: 2027

Candy Pennington is a former employee of the Athenaeum and hopes her knowledge will benefit the library and the public.

HARRY ROCK

TERM EXPIRES: 2027

Harry serves on the Search and the Personnel Committees. He brings nonprofit management skills to the Board as former 16-year Westfield YMCA Executive Director and President of the Westfield 350 Committee.

LINDA SALTUS

TERM EXPIRES: 2026

Linda serves as Chair of the Building Committee and managed the first phases of the multi-year renovation currently underway. Prior to her board appointment, she was an active member of the Friends of the Westfield Athenaeum for more than a decade and is an advocate of our local library and its many resources.

DEBORAH STRYCHARZ, ASSISTANT TREASURER

TERM EXPIRES: 2027

Debbie is assistant treasurer of the Athenaeum. She serves on the Building and Personnel Committees, and was able to help with negotiations of the current union contract. A former Westfield city auditor, she has been on the board since 2018.
