Public Meeting Rooms

The Elizabeth Stewart Reed RoomThe library offers five public meeting room spaces for individuals, local clubs and non-profit organizations. These include a comfortable, well-appointed conference room for up to 30 people and a large auditorium for up to 100 or more people.

To reserve a meeting room, please call Candy Pennington at 413-568-0638. She will be happy to assist you in finding the appropriate space for your group's needs. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

For-profit groups interested in holding a meeting at the library, for a fee, will be considered at the discretion of the Library Director. Please call us at 413-568-0638 to discuss your meeting room needs.

We are also able to assist those needing audiovisual aids, for slide, Powerpoint or other types of presentations, including live Internet presentations. A microphone and speakers are also available.

More information about the library's meeting room spaces is provided below.

Lang Auditorium - Located on the lower level, the Lang Auditorium is the largest meeting space in the Athenaeum and holds more than 100 people. Note: not handicapped accessible.

Jasper Rand Art Museum - Located on the main floor, near the main entrance, the Rand Art Museum is a large open space that holds 60 - 80 people.

Elizabeth Stewart Reed Room - Located on the main floor across from the Rand Art Museum, the Elizabeth Steward Reed Room holds 30 - 50 people.

Committee Room - The Committee Room is located on the lower level and is set up as a small classroom that holds up to 20 people.

Whitney Study - The Whitney Study is on the second floor level, located in the original Fowler-Gillett homestead (circa 1838), which is now the administrative wing of the Athenaeum. The Study is set up as a well-appointed conference room and holds 15 - 30 people.
